Susan McBroom Roberson

May 11, 1946 — August 23, 2023

Susan McBroom Roberson, 77, passed away at her home in Batesville, MS on August 23, 2023.

Susan was a retired educator and loved the simple life. Her pleasures were canning, gardening, and reading. Her greatest pleasure was her family, though.

Susan and the love of her life, her husband Jimmy, were married for 55 years. During that time, they built a large family, with a son, two daughters, 13 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Her family was everything to her.

Susan was a devout follower of Jesus Christ. She led all her children to Jesus, as well as many others. She was a member of Explorer’s Bible Study. Her legacy will live on in her children and in the lives of the many people she touched.

Susan is survived by her husband, Jimmy, Son, Clint Roberson (Holly), Daughter, Melissa Shepard (Bob), Daughter, Jamie Browning (James), 13  Grandchildren, Ashley Roberson, Shands Shepard, Benjamin Browning, Mary Grace McClellan (Christian), Callie Shepard, Emma Browning,  Coleman Shepard, Reef Roberson, John Robert Shepard, Claire Shepard, , Lily Shepard, Lydia Browning, and Anna Camp (Lee). Four great grandchildren, Caden Camp, Everette Camp, Holden Camp, and Riley Camp. She is also survived by her sister, Nell McBroom Foshee (Roger), and her brother,  Allen McBroom (Lynn), along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Sarah John McBroom.

There will be an informal grave-side service on what would have been their 56th wedding anniversary on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 5:00 PM in Magnolia Cemetary.  Friends and family of Susan are invited to attend. It will be hot; Susan would want everyone to dress comfortably so please don’t think you have to dress up to attend. She would humbled by the massive outpouring of love and support that her family has received over the last few days.

In lieue of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the charity of your choice.
