Willie Beatrice (Bea) Pickle James, age 94, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Tallahatchie General Hospital Nursing Home in Charleston, MS.
There will be a graveside service held for Mrs. James at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Enid Oak Hill Cemetery in Enid. The family will receive friends at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville from 1:30 to 2:30 prior to the service. Rev. Truman Scarbrough will officiate. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Joe, Bryant, and Bradley Douglas, Chris and Cody Rogers, and Daniel Kerr.
Willie Bea was born August 19, 1923 to the late Robert Calvin Pickle, Sr. and Alva Wells Pickle in Enid, MS. Willie Bea cherished being a homemaker during her lifetime and taking care of her family. Willie Bea enjoyed cooking, doing embroidery work, crossword puzzles and reading. Spoiling her grandchildren was her favorite activity. She treasured her little town of Enid where she was born, grew up, and was a faithful member of Enid Methodist Church. Willie Bea had a wonderful childhood and long fruitful life.
Those she leaves behind to carry on her legacy include 3 children, Sandra J. Douglas (William Earl) of Oakland, Melinda J. Rogers (Bill) of Enid, and Terry James (Martha Fay) of Charleston; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Willie Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmiael James; 3 sisters, Marjorie Brassell, Betty Joe Cochran and Olivia Pickle; and 2 brothers, Johnny Pickle and Bud Pickle, Jr.
