Willie L. Carvan

Willie L. Carvan, age 82, passed away on August 3, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS. 

Funeral services for Willie will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Willie was born on April 17, 1936 to the late Ava Lillian Phillips and Gerard Walters Carvan in Enid, MS. During Willie’s lifetime he worked as an inspector for MDOT and served with the Mississippi National Guard. He was of the Baptist faith.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his precious memory include his wife, Katherine Doubleday Carvan of Oakland, MS.; two children, Vicky Carvan Thomas (Don) of Grenada, MS., and Rickey Carvan (Bernita) of Oakland, MS.; his sister, Pat McGregor of Enid, MS.; his brother, Kenneth Carvan of Enid, MS.; 5 grandchildren, Christy Tribble (Josh), Les Thomas, Rickey Lyle Carvan, April Joyce Long, and Amanda Nacole Carvan; 9 great grandchildren and one on the way.
