William "Bill" David Robinson, age 80, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN. 

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service. 

Bill was born on November 5, 1943 to the late Clyde Crawford Robinson, Sr. and Jessica Ellen Adams Robinson in Batesville, MS. He lived a life dedicated to education and sports, impacting countless students and athletes during his impressive nearly 50-year career as a teacher and coach. Some of his stops as a coach included Live Oak, FL, Charleston High School, Bruce High School, Southaven High School, Lafayette High School, West Tallahatchie High School, Aberdeen High School, and Burnsville High School. Bill's expertise was not confined to a single discipline; he coached football, basketball, and track.

Bill earned a bachelor's degree from Delta State University, followed by a master's degree from the University of Mississippi. He shared his knowledge at various institutions, including Strider Academy, North Delta School, Grenada High School, and Marshall Academy, where his passion for teaching social studies and driver's education left a lasting impression on many.

Outside of the classroom and the field, Bill enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing, which provided him with joy and relaxation throughout his life. Additionally, he had a notable penchant for collecting a wide variety of guns, reflecting his diverse interests and hobbies.

The family Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory include his siblings, Patricia Meek of Southaven, MS, Dr. Clyde Robinson (Suzanne) of Water Valley, MS, Joy Mullen of Oakland, MS, Linda Colston of Waxahachie, TX, Sherry Childs of Midland, TX, Becky Brunk (Allen) of Oakwood, TX, and Mike Robinson (Angela) of Oakland, MS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Joann Heafner.
