Horn Lake, MS – Walter Dewaine Snyder, age 78, passed away, August 19, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services for Mr. Snyder will be on Wednesday, August 22, at 11a.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS, followed by a graveside service at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. The family will be receiving friends and family on Tuesday evening August 21st from 6-8pm.
Walter was born June 13, 1940 in Pope, MS to the late Walter Robert Snyder and Lillian Ford Snyder. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, TN and was the owner of D & D Iron Works in Horn Lake, MS. Walter was also a self-contractor for Action Iron in Memphis, TN. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also had a love for bluegrass music, and played the banjo and guitar. For years, Walter took great pride in showing his restored classic cars at area cars shows.
Walter leaves his loving family, which includes his wife of 58 years, Maudeana Wooldridge Snyder of Horn Lake, MS; four daughters, Shari McLean of Bartlett, TN, Alicia Winberry of Bartlett, TN, Kimelin Beard of Powell, TN, and Jana Byrd of Brighton, TN; sisters, Betty Bennett of Nesbit, MS, and Denise Sebree of Lakeland, TN; brother, Dwight Snyder of Memphis, TN; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Walter was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Snyder Johnson and a brother Walter Roy Snyder.
