Virginia H. Martin

Virginia Hance Martin, age 73, passed away Monday August 5, 2019 at her daughter's home in Oxford, MS. She was the wife of Tony Martin of Batesville.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Forrest Memorial Park. Rev. Eugene Bramlett will officiate.

Virginia was born April 1, 1946 to the late Frances Richardson Hance in Memphis, TN. She was a homemaker during her lifetime and of the Methodist Faith. Virginia loved taking care of and spending time with her husband, family and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking cakes and sewing. Virginia was always by her husbands side, she especially enjoyed helping him with his woodworking projects.  

The loving family she leaves behind include her adoring husband, Tony Martin of Batesville; children, Barbara Arbuckle of Oxford, Jennifer Martin of Batesville, and Timothy Martin of Olive Branch; sisters, Doris Howse of Bogue Chitta, Shelia Gall of Oxford; brothers, Edwin Hance of Searcy, Ar., Wayne and Richard Hance both of Millington, TN., and James Hance of N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
