Vickie A. Steward

Vickie A. Steward, 63, passed away Wednesday September 7, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Vickie was the wife of Mark Steward of Batesville.

Vickie was born March 19, 1959 to Grace Morrow Dees and the late Dueal Avant in Batesville, MS. Vickie worked for Panola Mills in Batesville for years before she retired. When she was younger, Vickie enjoyed deer hunting with her father before his death. She always had a deep love for animals. She was known to rescue wild animals who needed help. Whether it be a baby deer who lost his mother, or an injured squirrel or chipmunk, Vickie was there to the rescue. She also enjoyed crafting and taking care of her flowers in her yard.

In addition to her father, Vickie was preceded in death by one great grandchild.

The loving family she leaves behind includes her husband, Mark Steward; two children, Jimmy Berryhill, Nicki Bridges; step-daughter, Ashley Steward; four sisters, Carolyn Clark, Brenda Parker, Sheila Dickson, Wendy Sullivan; one brother, Jeff Avant; 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
