Sylvia B. Raby

Sylvia Byers Raby, age 76, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the North Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was the widow of the late Norman Earl Raby.

The family will have a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday morning, September 13, 2018, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service.

Sylvia was born November 11, 1941 in Batesville, MS to thew late Roy C. and Virginia Fowler Byers. While growing up in Batesville, MS, Sylvia attended Calvary Baptist Church. Sylvia was a retired math teacher, having taught in Pascagoula, MS and later in Beaumont, TX.

Sylvia will be most remembered by her sister, Pearl Byers Gregory (Steve) of Batesville, MS; two brothers, Cecil Byers of Orange, TX, Richard Byers of Courtland, MS, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Nell Byers.
