Susie Belle Johnson

Susie Belle Johnson, age 77, passed away early Thursday morning, February 6, 2020 in Courtland, MS. She was the widow of Walter Johnson.

Funeral services for Susie will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Courtland Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 1:30. Rev. Scott Brooks will officiate. Interment will be held at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville.

Susie was born June 4, 1942 to the late William C. Hailey and Annie Gray Hailey. Susie was retired from Crown Cork and Seal where she worked in the quality control department. She was a member of Courtland Church of Christ. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilt making and working on jig saw puzzles. Susie was always known for taking care of others.

The family she leaves behind to cherish her memory includes 2 daughters, Loretta Wilkinson (Joe) of Enid, and Evelyn Lauderdale (Curtis) of Courtland; 1 son, Walter Johnson, Jr. (Tammy) of Tillatoba ; 3 sisters, Kathy Lynn of Brandon, Nita Stewart of Greenville, and Elsie Holloway of Sunflower; 4 brothers, Ray, Hailey of New Orleans, Sam Hailey of Florence, Lester Hailey of Boliver, TN., and Howard Hailey of Holly Springs; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and loving husband Walter, Susie was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mamie, Mary, and Jane; and 2 brothers, Monk and Jim.
