Shirley Malone

Shirley Goodwin Malone, age 70, passed away Sunday morning, February 24, 2019, at the University of Arkansas Medical Services in Little Rock, AR.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 28, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Gardens in Clarksdale, MS. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

Shirley was born April 3, 1948 to the late Lorene Chrestman and John Elmer Goodwin in Quitman County, MS. During Shirley’s lifetime she was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. She also worked at the First National Bank in Clarksdale, MS. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her loving memory include her daughter, Lynn Jones of Marvell, AR; one brother, Stanley Goodwin (Sherry) of Batesville, MS; and three grandchildren, Jay Jones, Morgan Jones, and Taylor Smith.

Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded by her husband, Larry Malone; her son, Danny Smith; and two sisters, Ann Atkins and Billie Faye Johnson.
