Shirley Alice Thelen Estridge

Shirley Alice Thelen Estridge, age 82, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS. She is the widow of the late Clyde Morris Estridge.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 27, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. prior to the service. The interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Enid, MS.

Shirley was born February 8, 1937 in Stockton, KS to the late Jacob Henry and Daisy Maude Doughty Thelen. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville, MS and the retired manager of McDonald’s in Batesville, MS. Shirley enjoyed many things in life, which ranged from, sewing, gardening, raising cows, cooking, and canning her vegetable she had grown in her garden. She was a God-fearing lady that loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley will be missed most by her family, which includes her daughter, Elgalene Renee Estridge Close of Batesville, MS; three sons, Andrew L. Estridge of Enid, MS, Clifford Earl Estridge of Enid, MS, Clyde Vernon Estridge of Batesville, MS; sister, Katherine Thelen of Lake Buena Vista, FL; brother, Robert Thelen of Lake Buena Vista, FL; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Shirley also leaving behind loving furry companion, Cleo.
