Shannon Elizabeth Pettit, a vibrant and spirited young soul, passed away suddenly on December 16, 2024, at the tender age of 11.

Funeral services for Shannon will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with her family receiving friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Shannon was born on February 1, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.

She was home-schooled, which was a testament to her unique and engaging spirit that shone brightly in all aspects of her life. She was full of life and energy, embracing every moment with an infectious enthusiasm that touched the hearts of those around her. Shannon’s beautiful and artistic personality was vividly expressed through her love for painting, crafting, and building things.

Among her many hobbies, Shannon found delight in swimming, puzzles, and games, reveling in the joy of play and adventure. Each day was another opportunity for her to explore the beauty of life and create lasting memories. Her passion for arts and crafts stood out, showcasing her imaginative spirit and the love she poured into every project.

The family Shannon leaves behind to remember her precious memory include her mother, Jennifer Pettit (Todd Lawrence) of Sardis, MS; three sisters, Stephany Petit (Luis), Madalyn Pettit (Chris), and Elaina Pettit (Shun) all of Batesville, MS; her brother, Nicholas Pettit (McKenzie) of Batesville, MS; her maternal grandparents, Travis and Mary Whirley of Sardis, MS; her aunt and uncle, Chasity and Michael Howell of Batesville, MS; and her cousins, Austin Daugherty, Kayleigh Daugherty, Karlee Daugherty, Adalyn Howell, Barrett Howell, and Charlotte Howell.

Shannon's memory is one of joy, creativity, and an unwavering love for life. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of being a part of her world. As we remember her, let us hold close the laughter, the warmth, and the artistic flair she shared so freely. Her spirit will forever inspire those she leaves behind.
