Russell Truman Gray, Jr., age 80, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at his daughter's home in Batesville, MS.
The family will be having a private graveside service Monday morning, December 23, 2019 with a gathering of friends to follow from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home.
Russell was born on August 16, 1939 to the late Russell T. Gray, Sr. and Telette Mae Little Gray in Charleston, MS. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. After serving his country, he worked as an accountant. Russell was also a member of the First Baptist Church.
Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include his daughters, Patricia Gray Neal (Bubba) of Batesville, MS, and Kimberly Crenshaw Slaughter of Columbus, MS; one son, Thomas Glen Crenshaw, Jr. (Kim) of Batesville, MS; his sister, Shirley Lucille Gray McDonald (Buddy) of Eudora, MS; one brother, Dr. Robert L. Gray, Sr. (Charlotte) of Batesville, MS; five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Eleanor Johnson Gray, and one sister, Mildred Ann Gray Coplan.
