Ruby Mae Pittman Alexander Scruggs, age 82, passed away Friday morning, December 15, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.Funeral services for Mrs. Scruggs will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS with visitation beginning at 12 noon prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. Those serving as pallbearers include: Eddie Benson, Billy Riggs, Brent Pittman, Mike Bass, and Brenden Pittman. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Andy Anderson.Ruby was born December 13, 1935 in Quitman County, MS to the late Alma Loyd and Mary Louise Patton Pittman. She was retired CNA and faithful member of the Faith Tabernacle Church (Former First United Pentecostal Church) of Batesville, MS. Ruby is survived by her loving family which includes her three daughters, Debbie Pittman of Batesville, MS, Robin Anderson (Andy) of Courtland, MS, Mary Little of Batesville, MS; two sons, Kimball Alexander (Teresa) of Water Valley, MS, Jeffrey Alexander of Batesville, MS; five sisters, Sarah Pittman Darby of Enid, MS, Lula Pittman Morrissey of Batesville, MS, Jenny Pittman Waldo of Simpsonville, SC, Bonnie Pittman Bass of Huntington, TN, Lula "Tootie" Pittman Ewing of Senatobia, MS; two brothers, Terry Pittman of Batesville, MS, Mack Pittman of Batesville, MS; seven step-children; fifteen grandchildren, Brent Pittman, Trevor Pittman, Shawn Alexander, Jeremy Nichols, Kelsey Courtney, Cory Alexander, Aaron Alexander, Michael Taylor, Randall Tutor, Rachel Tutor, Jonathan Guerra, Matthew Guerra, Seth Scruggs, Gabriel Scruggs, Phoenix Scruggs and seventeen great-grandhchildren.Other than her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Scruggs; daughter, Jennifer Nichols; two sons, Randy Alexander, Patrick Scruggs; two sisters, Linda Pittman Lee, Vera Pittman Lucius; two brothers, Carl "Buddy" Pittman and David Pittman.
