Roye Bruce Dawson

Roye Bruce Dawson, age 51, passed away at his home in Brandon, MS on September 9, 2017. There will be a memorial service held for Bruce at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 prior to the service. Bruce was born in Greenwood, MS on November 3, 1965 to Richard Russell and Carolyn Kay Johnson Dawson. He had a degree in environmental science and secondary education from Delta State University and a nursing degree from Hinds Community College. He worked at Future Labs. Bruce was a devoted father and a member St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Madison. He was also an avid hunter and particularly enjoyed hunting in the MS Delta. Those he leaves behind include his wife, Anna Kathryn Guest Dawson of Brandon, his children; Isabel Virginia and Carter Savage Dawson of Brandon, and his parents; Richard and Kay Dawson of Hernando.  In lieu of flowers the family ask for those wishing to make memorial contributions to please do so to, Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 388, Marks, MS 38646, where a college fund has been set up for Bruce's children, or St. Matthews UMC, 7427 Old Canton Rd., Madison, MS. 39110.
