Rosemary Perkins Beard

Rosemary Perkins Beard, age 75, passed away Wednesday morning at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS. Mrs. Beard was the widow of the late Douglas W. Beard.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening, January 17, 2020, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home.

Rosemary was born July 12, 1944 in Sardis, MS to the late Willie Bryant and Rosie Johnson Perkins. Mrs. Beard worked for Panola Mills in Batesville, MS and later became a CNA. Following retirement, she enjoyed visiting with friends, riding looking at deer and taking time out for herself. Rosemary was a member of Pope Baptist Church.

Her family she leaves behind includes her two sons, Kenneth Beard of Pope, MS, David Beard of Oxford, MS; sister, Virginia Thompson of Indiana; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
