Ronald Lee “Ronny” Oswalt, Sr., age 59, passed away at his home in Sardis on May 6, 2018.
The family will hold a memorial gathering to remember Ronny’s life on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sardis Steak and Seafood in Sardis, MS with Jeremy Weldon presenting a eulogy at 6:30 P.M.
Ronny was born March 15, 1959 to the late Rex Larry Oswalt and Bobbye Racheal Lawrence Oswalt in Cherry Point, N.C. Ronny’s parents passed away when Ronny was a young boy. He was then raised by his paternal grandparents, William Yates Oswalt and Elaine Young Oswalt in Choctaw County near Mathiston, MS. He graduated from Mathiston High School and went on to attend Clark College, Blue Mountain college and The University of Mississippi. Ronny proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force and then the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. Ronny worked as the internet sales manager at Heafner Motors in Batesville. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, reading and writing.
Ronny is survived by one daughter, Cheyenne Rhodes (Thomas) of Midlothian, TX; one son, Ronny Oswalt, Jr. of Sardis, MS.; one sister, Sheila Oswalt Jeffries of Starkville, MS.
In addition to his parents, and paternal grandparents, Ronny was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tommie Lee and Polly Walker Lawrence.
