Robert D. Pearson, age 94, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Robert was born on September 9, 1929 to the late John Robert Pearson and Nona Hancock Pearson in Lambert, MS. He worked as an oil mill superintendent throughout his life. Robert enjoyed working on his farm and working on golf carts. 

Playing golf was one of his favorite past times. 

The family he leaves behind includes his son, Dennis Pearson of Batesville, MS; his brother, Joe Pearson of Alabama; his sister, Betty Hillis of Campaign, TN; six grandchildren, Michael Pearson, Benji Pearson (Melody), Blake Pearson (Meagan), Robbie Pearson (Stacey), Paige Allen (David), and Tony Trusty; seven great grandchildren, Mary Margaret Pearson, Jack Evans, Emma Dayle Pearson, Steven Pearson, Austin Pearson, Cierra Pearson, and Ally Pearson; and two great-great grandchildren, Pearson Stratton Campbell and Baylor Evans. 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret B. Pearson; his son, Doyle Pearson; two sisters, Juanita Stembridge and Mamie “Trixie” Bray; and seven brothers, Frank Pearson, Mark L. “Buddy” Pearson, John A. Pearson, Albert Pearson, Edward “Ed” Pearson, Raymond Pearson, and Kenny Pearson.
