Robert Edward "Red" Hudson, age 80, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020, at his home in Batesville, MS.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home.
Red was born on March 8, 1939 to the late Ewell Spencer Hudson and Edna May McEwen Hudson in Panola County, MS. When Red was 15 years old he joined the U.S. Army. He was an Under Age American Veteran of the Korean War. After serving his country he worked at an Upholstery shop. Red was also very active in different organizations. He was a member of the American Legion, the former President of Panola County Relief Fund, and one of the founders of MS Street Rods. Red was also a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner and a member of the Sardis Church of Christ.
Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Artie Rovene “Granny” Hudson of Batesville, MS; three daughters, Debbie Montgomery of Winona, MS, Terri McGregor of Pope, MS, and Sandra Hailey of Pope, MS; four sons, Kenneth Hudson of Lakeland, FL, Ronald Hudson, Henry Hudson, and Robert E. “Rocky” Hudson, Jr. all of Batesville, MS; two brothers, William Horace “Killer” Hudson of Sardis, MS, and Spencer Hudson of Sumner, MS; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and 2 on the way.
