Robert Edward Dees

Robert Edward Dees, age 90, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice Home in Collierville, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2022 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Courtland, MS. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

Robert was born on January 31, 1932 to the late Robert Preston and Altie Mae Mooney Dees in Eudora, MS. During his lifetime, he honorably served our country with the U.S. Army in the Korean War and worked as a shift engineer for TVA for many years. Robert was also a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Free Masons (Lodge #707) out of Memphis, TN and a proud member of Tocowa Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

The family he leaves behind includes his daughter, Susan Messer of Prentiss, MS; two sons, Dennis Perry Dees (Dorothy) of Arlington, TN, and Robert Douglas Dees of Cedar Rapids, IA; 6 grandchildren, Rob, Carole, Andy, Adam, Alan, and Jacob; and 5 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Clara Dees; and two sisters, Christine White and Edna Carpenter.
