Robert Biggers, age 85, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at his home near Marks, MS surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. 

Robert was born on April 18, 1939 in Clarksdale, MS to the late Floyd Lafayette Biggers and Allie Dee Camp Biggers. He was a member of Locke Station Baptist Church in Marks, MS.

Throughout his career at Knit Tex, Robert exhibited exceptional skill and a strong work ethic that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His commitment to excellence and leadership as a Mechanic Supervisor left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working alongside him. He later retired from Renaissance Village in 2004.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was a loving family man who cherished moments spent outdoors. One of his greatest joys was camping with his grandchildren when they were younger. His gentle spirit and playful nature made him a treasured companion during these special times.

In his leisure hours, Robert found solace in various hobbies and interests. He had a passion for fishing, playing baseball, squirrel hunting, gardening, and engaging in friendly card games. These activities brought him immense joy and allowed him to unwind from the demands of daily life.

Robert will be deeply missed by his surviving family members and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication that will continue to inspire all those who knew him.

The surviving family he leaves behind includes his wife of 63 years, Ruby Jane Locke Biggers of Marks, MS; his two daughters, Regina Thomas (Nathan) of Pope, MS, and Carol Dabbs Lancour (Jim) of Nekoosa, WI; three sons, Scot L. Biggers of Marks, MS, Donald Biggers (Amy) of Lewisville TX, and Ronald Biggers (Brenda) of Batesville, MS; two sisters, Sarah Ann Barnes of Water Valley, MS, and Martha Jane Cain of Batesville, MS; his brother, Floyd Lafayette Biggers, Jr. of Goose Creek, SC; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, James Donald Biggers; one sister, Betty Dohanich; and one granddaughter, Valerie Smith.
