Rita Southers Stansberry, age 88, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at her home near Crowder, MS.

A private family funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Crowder Cemetery in Crowder, MS.

Rita was born February 26, 1932 in Pope, MS to the late Waymon C. and Ruby E. Allen Southers. She was a retired Certified Nurses Assistant and member of Hubbard Baptist Church of Hubbard, TX.

Rita's loving and caring memory will be held close to the hearts of her family, which includes, three daughters, Margie Taylor of Batesville, MS, Charlotte Banks of Batesville, MS, Vickie Knox of Waco, TX; two sons, Wade Eugene Burns of Joshua, TX, Robert Lloyd Burns of Hubbard, TX; two brothers, W.C. Southers of Duncanville, TX, Nick Southers of Nacogdoches, TX; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Stanberry; granddaughter, Jennifer Hays; two grandsons, Randy Burns, Jason Burns, and her sister, Marie McCullar.
