Riley Matthew Coleman, age 56, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018, at his home in Batesville, MS.

A memorial service for Matthew will be 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 23, 2018 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends beginning at 4:00 P.M.

Matthew was born on May 19, 1962 to the late Virginia Dayle Baker and Riley Louie Coleman in Oxford, MS. He honorably served in the Army National Guard. During his spare time he enjoyed playing his guitar, singing and songwriting, riding his motorcycle, and being outdoors. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

Those he leaves behind include his daughter, Amanda Prewett (Adam) of Taylor, MS; two sisters, Anita Avalos (Leonardo) of Byhaila, MS, and Angela Barton (Mike) of Courtland, MS; four grandchildren, Autumn, Addison, Ainsley, and Adam Michael; nieces and nephews, Virginia “Gini” Avalos, Victoria “Tori” Avalos, Christian Barton, Allen Gillespie, and Daniel Gillespie.

Along with his parents, Matthew was preceded in death by one nephew, William Gillespie.

Anyone wishing to make any memorial contributions can make them out to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
