Richard Somers

Richard Arthur Somers, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at North Delta Hospice in Southaven, MS. Richard was the widower of the late Shirley Somers. Richard was born March 4, 1929 to the late Kenneth and Millie Reed Somers in Carthage, IN. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Richard worked in maintenance during his lifetime and eventually retired from Coors in Memphis. He was a member of the Mason Lodge #362 in Memphis, TN for 50 years. Because of his vast experience in maintenance he was known as Mr. Fix-It and was always willing to lend a hand. Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Barbara Kendall (Steve) of Oakland, TN; his son, Steve Somers (Lacey) of Batesville; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren. The family will hold a private memorial service honoring Mr. Somers' life. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville has charge.
