Richard L. Lamb, a dedicated and beloved figure in the Batesville community, passed away on March 20, 2025, at the age of 88, in Southaven, MS. Born on September 20, 1936, in Kewanee, IL, Richard lived a life defined by service, love for his family, and a passion for his interests.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. Funeral services will take place the following day, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM at Batesville Presbyterian Church. Following the service, Richard will be laid to rest at Magnolia Cemetery.

Richard retired from the United States Navy. Proudly serving his Country. He was a true patriot, living by his motto: God, Family, and Country. After his military service, he became a valued member of the Batesville workforce, where he worked as a salesman at Shackeroff's and later served as a purchasing agent for the City of Batesville. His contributions to the community never went unnoticed, and he held a special place in the hearts of those who knew him.

A man of many hobbies, Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman who relished time spent outdoors. He was particularly passionate about South Panola Football and could often be found cheering for his team with unwavering support. His love for family gatherings was evident in his enjoyment of barbecuing and traveling, always eager to create cherished memories. One hobby in particular was of interest to Richard and his wife, Charlayne; if you have ever visited their home, you would know it’s filled with beautiful stained-glass art created by the two.

Richard is survived by his loving daughters, Dixie Lamb and Mazie Lamb, both of Walls, MS; and his sisters, Nancy Tudder of Kewanee, IL. and Shirley George of Springfield, MO. He will be deeply missed by his family, who will carry forward his legacy of love and dedication.

In addition to his living relatives, Richard rejoins his beloved wife, Charlayne Gladney Lamb, his parents, Pearl and Louise Decker Lamb, his brothers Herb, Robert "Bobby," Don, and Ed Lamb, along with his sister, Donna Homer. Their memory continues to guide those left behind in the family.

Richard L. Lamb's life was characterized by his profound commitment to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished and remembered fondly by all who knew him.
