Rex Singleton Roberson, Jr., age 61, passed away early Saturday morning, February 15, 2020, at the Sunshine Inn Assisted Living in Myrtle, MS.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12 Noon. The interment will follow the funeral at Shiloh Cemetery in Courtland, MS.
Rex was born February 17, 1958, to the late Rex Singleton Roberson, Sr. and Shelby Jean Mills Roberson in Batesville, MS. Those who knew Rex know he faced many struggles in life, but through them all, he clung to the promises of God. He loved his family and beamed with pride when telling others about his precious daughter, granddaughters, niece and nephews. He had an amazing talent for music which he began sharing in his youth by writing songs, playing guitar, and singing in the youth choir at Pope Baptist Church where he was a member. He continued to share his gift for music throughout his life and often serenaded the residents and workers at his home at Sunshine Assisted Living. He loved with all his heart and never let a person cross his path without wishing God’s blessings upon them or by letting them know, “Jesus Loves You.” He was one of God’s special blessings and will be missed by all.
He will especially be missed by his loving family which includes his daughter, Renea Suzanne Roberson Ivey (Glen); two granddaughters, Enid Seraphina Ivey and Vera Claire Ivey, all of Cordova, TN; two sisters, Carol Roberson Baker (Blue) of Sardis, MS, and Mary Roberson Wiygul (Jay) of Columbus, MS; and one brother, Timothy Drew Roberson of Paris, MS, as well as by his niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
