Ramer R. Copeland, age 87, passed away Sunday morning, June 17, 2018, at his home near Sardis, MS.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Central Academy Church of Christ in Batesville, MS with Mr. Ed Casteel officiating. The interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park, and the family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include, Michael Daniels, Scott Darby, Eddie Berryhill, Jake Daniels, Luke Daniels and Hunter Cook.
Ramer was born July 14, 1930 in Batesville, MS to the late Thomas and Alice Segars Copeland. He proudly served his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged by the U.S. Army for his honorable and faithful service. Ramer retired from the Thermos Company in Batesville, MS as a maintenance lead man. During his spare time, Ramer enjoyed the outdoors while hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
Ramer's legacy will be remembered by his wife of 68 years, Annie Ruth Goodnight Copeland of Sardis, MS; three daughters, Debra C. Johnson (William) of Sardis, MS, Brenda C. Daniels of Sardis, MS, Beverly C. Berryhill (Johnny) of Sardis, MS; sister, Pat Harper of Eufaula, OK; two brothers, Jimmy Copeland and Charles Copeland both of Pope, MS; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, Ramer was preceded in death by his two sisters, Catherine Wooten and Tommie Everson; three brothers, Billy Copeland, Jack Copeland and Roy Copeland.
