Philip Ray Moore

Philip Ray Moore, age 65, passed away Tuesday evening, July 23, 2019 at his home in Batesville, MS. He was the widower of the late Diana Moore.

Funeral services for Phil will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with visitation at 9:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Dr. Tommy Snyder will officiate.

Phil was born January 7, 1954 to the late Aubrey L. Moore and Annie Clair Joiner Moore in Yazoo City. Phil was the owner of Special T’s for 25 years. Phil was inducted into the Indicator Fraternity Hall of Fame for Umpires in 1996. He was a Gideon, involved with the Cross Ministry, and a member of Batesville First Baptist Church.

Phil is survived by his only son, Jeremy Moore of Batesville; one sister, Nancy Hughes (Norman) of Batesville; one brother, Robert Moore (Carla) of Wickenburg, AZ.; and many nieces and nephews, all a family who adored Phil.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Diana, Phil was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly Parker and Brenda Phillips Higgs.
