Peyton Colby Barnett

Peyton Colby Barnett, age 17, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 21, 2019, near Courtland, MS.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church with interment to follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home and also from 12:00 P.M. Tuesday until service time at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.

Peyton was born January 7, 2002 in Oxford, MS to Timothy Hugh and Angela Brewer Barnett. He was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church, and enjoyed the church youth activities going on mission trips to the coast to hand out food and clothing to the less fortunate. Peyton was in his Junior year at South Panola High School. He loved and enjoyed anything outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, bush hogging or riding four-wheelers, Peyton could always be found outside doing what he loved. He also was on the 4-H Shooting Team and had an eye for welding.

Peyton’s shining light will always shine upon his family, which includes his parents, Tim and Angela Brewer Barnett of Courtland, MS; brother, Timothy Blake Barnett of Courtland, MS; maternal grandparents, Kathy Gordon Brewer and her late husband, Eddie of Enid, MS; paternal grandparents, Albert Hugh and Mary Lou Barnett of Courtland, MS; two aunts, Karen Brewer Tutor and husband Bill of Courtland, MS, Latitia Barnett Hopper and husband Dennis of Batesville, MS, and numerous cousins and extended family.
