Peggy Ann Murphree

Peggy Ann Murphree, age 88, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 15, 2019, at Panola Medical Center in Batesville, MS.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 17, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. The family will be receiving friends Friday from 12:00 P.M. until service time.

Peggy was born September 23, 1930 in Pope, MS to the late Wirt and Edgrie McCurdy Lipe. She was a homemaker and member of the Batesville Church of Christ.

Peggy’s loving memory and legacy will be cherished by her two sons, William L. Murphree of Bowling Green, KY, Joe D. Murphree of Tallahassee, FL; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, William Barney Murphree.

The family would like to thank Peggy’s longtime dedicated friend and caregiver, Cynthia Cosby.
