Otis Eugene Johnson, age 91, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS with interment to follow at Hebron Cemetery in Sardis, MS. The family will receive friends Friday evening, November 20, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family ask that you please wear a mask if you plan on attending visitation or the funeral service.

Otis was born on August 26, 1929 to the late Elgin Graves and Alice Ethel Galliher Johnson in Salem, VA. During his lifetime, he worked as a truck driver for 35 years, and then drove tour buses for 8 years with Trucking and Charter Tours. Mr. Otis also honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a previous member of the First Baptist Church here in Batesville, where he served as a deacon and President of the Keenagers for many years. He began attending Wyatte Baptist Church in Senatobia when he moved in with his son and daughter-in-law. He loved his church and his church family. Otis was also very involved in the Cross Ministry with Dr. Ball here in Batesville.

Those left behind to cherish his precious and faithful memory includes his two daughters, Cheryl Lindsey (Dan) of Corinth, MS, and Pat Ledbetter (Gary) of Banner, MS; his three sons, Roger Johnson (Debbie) of Senatobia, MS, David Johnson (Tina) of Long Beach, MS, and Barry Johnson (Debbie) of Hernando, MS; one son-in-law, Wayne Andrews of Pearl, MS; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Otis is preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Johnson Andrews; first wife of 59 years, Mary Ellen Johnson; his second wife of 11 years, Mamie Neal Johnson; three brothers, Melvin, Glenny, and Lynn Johnson; five sisters, Mag Duncan, Cletis Chittum, Zana Rhodes, Norma Lee Bowles, and Sue Prillaman.
