Opal Olene Cannon, age 82, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at her home in Bartlett, TN.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS.
Olene was born on August 13, 1938 to the late Irby and Lottie Mae (White) Pinkston in Sledge, MS. She worked as the secretary the Board of Education in Shelby County for many years and attended the Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Cordova. Olene’s faith played a big role in her life, and she loved her church family very much. She also had a special love for her granddaughters and great grandsons.
The family left behind to remember her precious and loving memory include her husband, Darrell Cannon of Bartlett, TN; her son, Keith Cannon of Bartlett, TN; a sister, Beverly Frazier of West Monroe, Louisiana; 2 granddaughters, Leann Moore (Brian) of Memphis, TN, and Heather Wellman (Brandon) of West Point, Iowa; and 4 great grandchildren, Ethan Moore, Cameron Wellman, Brady Wellman, and Cooper Wellman.
She was preceded in death by her parents Irby and Lottie Mae Pinkston and her sister Virginia Hill-Simmons.
