Norma Arnold

October 18, 1935 — September 17, 2020

Mrs. Norma Arnold, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Batesville on September 17, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Batesville. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 prior to the service. Interment will be held at Magnolia Cemetery.

Norma was born October 18, 1935 to the late William Archie Dettor and Myrtle Corrine Hudson Dettor in Batesville. Norma retired from the South Panola School District where she worked as an administrative assistant for years. She was a devoted member of Batesville First Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sitting outside and working in her yard. Norma had a special love for animals, particularly her dogs. Norma had a special bond with her students from school and the South Panola Football family. Norma was a kind soul and was loved by many who knew her.

Norma was preceded in death by four brothers, R.W., Curtis, William, and Lee Hudson. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Darrel Arnold.

The loving family she leaves behind include her children, Debbie Mehan, Amy A. Phillips (Del), and Bryan Arnold (Jessica) all of Batesville; 5 grandchildren, Whitney Mehan Aldridge, Kelsey Glenn Sullivan, Darrel Glen “D.G.” Arnold, Tyler Thomas Arnold, and Ryder Hayes Arnold; 5 great grandchildren.
