M.M. "Monty" Randolph

M.M. "Monty" Randolph, age 91, passed away Sunday morning, February 16, 2020 at his home in Batesville, MS.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Antioch Cemetery in Courtland, MS. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Monty was born on May 26, 1928 to the late Richard Montague Randolph and Mary Gibson Randolph in Panola County, MS. He was a 1949 graduate of Mississippi State University and honorably fought for his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Monty served as the president of the Panola County Farm Bureau and as a Director of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation until 2007. He was a retired farmer and a faithful member of Independence Presbyterian Church where he was a long-time Sunday school teacher and Elder. Monty was a pillar of the Independence community and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Jo Randolph of Batesville, MS; two daughters, Macy R. McCormack and the late Carnes McCormack of Yellville, AR, and Lori R. Watts and husband Ben of Columbia, MS; one brother, George G. Randolph of Batesville, MS; two grandchildren, Benjamin Watts and fiancé Caitlin Seale of Nashville, TN, and Maggie McCormick Davenport and husband Zach of Yellville, AR; one great grandchild, Oakley Davenport; and step grandchildren, Meredith Meurrier and family and Peyton McCormack and son.
