Michael W. Smith, 51, of Oxford, MS, passed away Saturday December 9, 2023 at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. 

The family will receive friends Sunday December 17, 2023 from Noon until 2pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home.

Michael was born September 28, 1972 to the late Roy Jefferson Smith and Bessie Melton Smith in Batesville, MS. Michael was an auto mechanic all of his life. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed riding back roads, and especially enjoyed spending time at the lake. 

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by three siblings, Troy Lynn Smith, Margaret Ann Smith Tutor, and Ida Dell Williams. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his four children, Damon Smith, Magan Smith, Dakota Smith, and Michael Smith, his significant other, Barbara Bright Bennett, and nine grandchildren, Hayden, Braylynn, Wyatt, Chris, Carter, Zane, Kaysen, Leigh, and Bryson.
