Michael Bernhardt Dent, also known as “Benjy” to his friends and family, passed away on May 31, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Batesville, MS.
Born on July 26, 1972, in the charming town of Natchez, MS, Benjy touched the lives of many with his warm heart and infectious love for life.
Benjy was a dedicated Construction Worker, known for his craftsmanship in building metal buildings. His commitment to his work was a reflection of his strong work ethic and attention to detail. Beyond his career, Benjy had a passion for working out and staying fit. He found solace in the outdoors and cherished every moment spent under the open sky.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Benjy will remember him for his larger-than-life personality. He truly loved life and approached each day with a positive attitude that was contagious to those around him. His heart of gold shone brightly through his interactions with others, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word.
Family meant everything to Benjy. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Bobbie J. Dent of Jackson, MS; his cherished daughter, Ana "Luana" Dent of Batesville, MS; his brothers, Joseph Dent of Houma, LA, and John Dent of McComb, MS, as well as his sister Leslie Dent of Ocean Springs, MS. Benjy is also survived by his loving mother Debbie McDaniel (Bob) of Port Gibson, MS, his father Mike Dent (Elaine) of Ocean Springs, MS, and his adoring granddaughter, Arahbella Alred, whom brought him great pride and joy.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Robert McDaniel.
Benjy’s family will celebrate his life at a later date. His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
