Mateo Dean Province

Mateo Dean Province passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving parents on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women in Memphis, TN. 

Mateo was born January 10, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee to Colby Province and Selena Pegueros Province. In Mateo’s threeshort hours here on Earth, he was his parent’s pride and joy. Mateo would gaze at Colby and Selena as they spoke to him about each of his family members, and they quickly found out he was ticklish on his back as they would rub it softly. He had a head full of curly hair and the sweetest chubby cheeks. Although Jesus needed Mateo more in Heaven, the three hours he spent here with his parents, will be cherished for a lifetime. Mateo’s sweet spirit will be missed every single day by his family. 

Mateo leaves behind his loving parents, Colby and Selena Province of Batesville; his paternal grandparents, Don and Shelley Province of Batesville; his maternal grandparents, Humberto Pegueros, Sr. and Flora Fernandez of Batesville; his uncles, Leighton Province (Laina) of Brandon, MS; Luis Pegueros (Mallorye) of Batesville; and Humberto “Bert” Pegueros (Haley) of Batesville; his aunt, Shelby Howell (Jordan) of Batesville; and a host of cousins and extended family members.

A private graveside service for family members will be held at Forrest Memorial Park.
