Mary Legrande Wiggers, age 88, passed away Friday evening, March 2, 2018, at her home in Oxford, MS. She was the widow of the late Reverend Charles C. Wiggers.
The family will gather at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Oxford, MS beginning at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 5, 2018, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 A.M. The committal service will be in Indianola City Cemetery later Monday afternoon at 3:00 P.M.
Mary was born April 4, 1929 in Yazoo City, MS to the late William Henry and Hattie Dixon Tennent. She was a homemaker and teacher who, in her spare time, took great pleasure cross stitching, knitting, reading books and gardening. Mary also loved watching hummingbirds, but most of all, her love for her family was undeniable.
Mary’s loving and caring memory will be most cherished by her family, which includes, two daughters, Georgeanne Wiggers Smith of Senatobia, MS, LeGrande Wiggers Babb of Pontotoc, MS; two sons, John C. Wiggers of Kosciusko, MS, Frank T. Wiggers of Oxford, MS; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
