Martha Chrestman

Martha Hughes Chrestman, age 74, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at her home in Batesville, MS. She was the widow of Mr. Lonnie Chrestman, Jr. 

A celebration of Martha's life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., along with the funeral services for Wendy Ingram, her daughter-in-law, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. 

Martha was born on September 26, 1949 to the late Claude Hughes and Annie McCullar Hughes in Batesville, MS. She worked in the customer service department at Walmart for several years. Martha enjoyed cross-stitching and working in the yard. She was a collector of many things, but had a knack for collecting frog trinkets. 

Martha is survived by her son, Scott Ingram of Batesville, MS; her granddaughter, Sterlynn Ingram of Batesville, MS; her loving best friend, Sandra Stevens of Sardis, MS, and two sisters, Betty Chrestman of Batesville, MS, and Carol Jean Conner of Greenfield, SC. 

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James “Bubba” Hughes.
