Marion F Stokes

Marion Stokes, age 85, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

Marion was born November 20, 1933 in Courtland, MS to the late Burris and Evelyn Freeman Doty. She was retired from Parker-Hannifin Company in Batesville, MS., and at an early age, Marion attended Independence Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat, but her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Marion’s legacy will continue to live through her two daughters, Sherry Stokes Goodwin and husband, Stanley, of Batesville, MS, Angie Stokes Jaudon of Batesville, MS; one son, Ricky Stokes and wife, Pat, of Courtland, MS; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and in June of this year, she would have been a great-great grandmother.

Along with her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Stephanie Egbert, and one brother, James Doty.
