Margie Lee Wilson Jones, age 95, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at Sardis Community Nursing Home in Sardis, MS.
Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Black Jack Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in Black Jack Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church. The Reverend's Don Howie and Ron Wilson will be officiating the service. Those honored to serve as pallbearers, include, Johnny Carson, Johnny Russell, Bryan Russell, David Russell, Noah Willis, Eli Russell, Bobby Phelps, Ronnie Smith and Danny Wayne Smith.
Margie was born January 3, 1923 in Sardis, MS to the late James Albert Wilson, Sr. and Mandy Elizabeth Perkins Wilson. When she was a young girl, her family moved to the Black Jack Community. She was a graduate of Black Jack Community School. After graduating, she moved to Memphis, TN to work in a factory during WWII. It was there she met and married A.C. Jones, Jr., a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. During her marriage, she lived in many places and had four daughters. Margie was an outstanding mother, homemaker and a life long member of Black Jack Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Maxey J. Sumlin of Jackson, GA, Carol J. Hoover (Ben) of Jackson, GA, Ellen J. Carson (Mike) of Batesville, MS; brother, J.A. (Sonny) Wilson, Jr. (Hilda) of Batesville, MS; three grandchildren, Allisa Conyers (Brian), Alex Knoll (Corey), Amanda Barrentine (Brent) and six great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Janis Lynn Jones and three infant brothers.
