Mamie "Trixie" Elizabeth Pearson Bray, age 94, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at her home in Batesville, MS.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Batesville, MS, where she was member, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park.
She was born December 19, 1923 in Lambert, MS to the late John R. and Mamie Adams Pearson. Mamie was married on December 4, 1943 to Walter "Wally" Bray, and they enjoyed 69 years of marriage. Mrs. Bray worked as the secretary to the President of Chrysler Corporation in Milwaukee, WI, and and worked as a court reporting secretary. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Though her physical stature was small, her personality was grand. For example, earlier in life, She enjoyed participating in traditional Hawaiian dancing. Even late in life, when going out, she made sure her hair and makeup were done to perfection. She presented herself with sophistication and grace. Mrs. Bray retired in 1983 and moved to Pensacola, FL for 12 years and then moved to Batesville, MS in the fall of 1999 to provide health care for her brother, Albert Pearson.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her brothers, Frank Pearson, Mark L. "Buddy" Pearson, John A. Pearson, Albert Pearson, Edward "Ed" Pearson, Raymond Pearson, and Kenneth "Kenny/Flintstone" Pearson.
She is survived by her brothers, Joe Pearson (Margie), Robert Pearson (Billie June) both of Batesville, MS; sisters, Juanita Stembridge of Millport, AL, and Betty Hillis of Campaign, TN, along with a host of nephews, nieces, devoted care-givers and in-laws.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. BVray's memory to be sent to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund, 120 Hwy 35 North, Batesville, MS 38606.
