Wayne Goodnite

Wayne Goodnite, age 88, passed away early Saturday morning, January 4, 2020 at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, January 7, 2020, from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. The family will have a private committal service Wednesday morning at Blackjack Cemetery in Batesville, MS.

Wayne was born December 5, 1931 in Sardis, MS to the late John Felix and Bertha Marshall Goodnite. He was a cattleman and breeder on his farm in Sardis, MS for many years. Wayne enjoyed music, cooking, watching sports, but most of all, he loved his cattle. Wayne was also a graduate of Mississippi State University.

Wayne was survived by his daughter, Kathy Jean Goodnite; son, John W. Goodnite of Sardis, MS; sister, Gene Brown of Batesville, MS; two brothers, George Goodnite of Batesville, MS, J.T. Goodnite of Batesville, MS; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.
