Luz Contreras Saguiguit

Luz Contreras Saguiguit, 58, of Robinsonville, MS, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at her home.

Luz was born September 2, 1964 in Baguio City, Philippines to Drs. Gil Saguiguit and Remigia Contreras Saguiguit. After graduating from Lowndes High School in Valdosta, GA, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Valdosta State University and a second Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Master’s degree in Operations Research from Georgia Tech.

An avid tennis player, Luz played competitively with area teams wherever she lived and developed strong bonds with her team members. Luz won numerous events at the local, state, regional, and national levels.  Her other hobbies included playing guitar, drawing and painting, and learning martial arts.

Luz was employed as the Director of Planning and Analysis for the Hollywood and 1^st Jackpot Casinos in Tunica, MS.  She held related positions with casinos in Bangor, ME, Las Vegas, NV, as well as in Greenville and Biloxi, MS.  Luz also served as Chief Financial Officer at Envision Payment Solutions in Duluth, GA.

Luz was preceded in death by her mother, Dr. Remigia Contreras Saguiguit. Those left to cherish her memory include her father Dr. Gil Saguiguit, of Baguio City, Philippines, and two brothers, Roy Saguiguit, of Abita Springs, LA, and Leo Saguiguit, of Columbia, MO.

A celebration of life will be held at Tunica National Golf and Tennis in Tunica Resorts, MS on November 19 at 1:00pm.
