Lou Ellen Bennett

Lou Ellen Elmore Bennett, age 64, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at University Medical Center in Grenada. She was the widow of Ernest Vernon McCoy.

There will be a memorial gathering held for Mrs. Bennett on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. 

Lou was born January 4, 1955 to the late William Henry Elmore and Estelle Poe Elmore in Vicksburg, MS. She worked in the nursing field as a Certified Nurse Assistant. In her spare time she enjoyed playing on the computer, bird watching, and researching ancestry records. Lou loved raising animals particularly her chihuahua dogs. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. 

The loving family she leaves behind include her children, Katherine Collums of Pope, Cliff Collums of Baldwin, and James Collums of Pope; one brother, Jim Elmore of Pope; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
