Linda "Fay" Russell Woodard

Linda “Fay” (Russell) Woodard, age 78, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 20th, 2024 at Sardis Community Nursing Home in Sardis, MS. She was a wife, mother, and grandmother of many talents--some of which included sewing, quilting, painting, canning, cooking southern food, and gardening. Her green-thumb produced vegetable gardens (especially her tomatoes) and flowering plants like no other!

Fay was born on June 3, 1946, to the late Lawrence Edward Russell and Minnie Ruth Moore. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Jimmie Waller, Bonnie Depriest, Maxine Rhodes, Peggy Martin, Buddy Russell, Roger Russell, Calvin Russell, Aubrey Russell, Adrian Russell, and Dovard Russell. She is also preceded in death by two grandsons, Brandon Keith Woodard and Neil Buchanan, and granddaughter, Kasey Darlene Woodard.

Her family left behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 61 years, Joseph “Danny” Woodard, Batesville, MS; her four children, Rickey Daniel Woodard, Batesville, MS, Keith (Trina) Woodard, Abbeville, MS, Alice (Brent) Buchanan, Independence, MS, and Jason (Jennifer) Woodard, Abbeville, MS; her grandchildren, Joseph (Amber) Woodard, Kalyn Buchanan, Sloan Boyette, Brianna (Brian) Simmons, Ethan Woodard, and Courtney Woodard; her great-grandchildren, Riley Woodard, Chad Woodard, Khloe Woodard, Marlaina Woodard, Greyson Simmons, Finley Simmons, Wyatt Woodard, Madilynn Jo Woodard, Preston Humphrey, Maycee Humphrey, Abigail Buchanan, and Easton Buchanan, and, her sister, Sue Russell Vaughn, Abbeville, MS.

No services will be held as her family gathers around each other to cherish her memory during this time.
