Linda Edwards Pou, age 86, passed away Sunday evening, November 11, 2018 at Elmcroft Assisted Living Facility in Oxford, MS.
Funeral services for Linda will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
Linda was born in Lafayette County, MS on August 18, 1932. She was the youngest child of 10 children born to Kate and Charlie Edwards. After the death of her first husband, Flavil Dalton, Linda worked for the Oxford Police Dept. as a dispatcher. In 1964, she married James Robert Pou and moved to Batesville with her 2 children, Johnny and Melinda Dalton. She and James had one child together, Glennie Pou. Linda went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2018.
Linda loved Ole Miss and South Panola football and was know to be a "great coach". She lived a quiet simple life. Linda enjoyed sitting on the porch visiting with close friends. She cherished her time spent with her family. Linda is survived by her 2 daughters; Melinda Hollingsworth (John) of Dauphin Island, AL. and Glennie Frances Pou of Batesville; 1 son, Johnny Dalton (Liz) of Oxford; sister-in-law, Rachel Edwards of Southaven.
In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her first husband, Flavil Dalton, and her second husband, James Robert Pou.
