Livestream of Memorial Service

Linda Laster, age 72, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Regional One Health Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was the widow of Mr. Frank Laster. 

A memorial service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Howell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Linda was born on May 4, 1951 in Pennsylvania. She worked as a nurse at Dr. Purohit’s Medical office in Batesville for nearly 40 years. Linda was very career driven, and took her job seriously. She was an excellent nurse and even helped out in managing his office. She was of Baptist faith and enjoyed going shopping in her spare time. Linda also had a special love for her grandchildren and loved them dearly. She supported them in all that they did, whether it was a sporting event, a school event, or a play at the Panola Playhouse. 

The family she leaves behind includes her three children, Frankie Laster (Kirsten) of Pennsylvania, Becky Brummett (Craig) of Batesville, MS, and James Ryan Laster (Misty) of Madison, MS; two sisters, Gail Meindl and Sharon Austin both of Pennsylvania; one brother, Larry Young of Maryland; and five grandchildren, Morgan Laster, Ben Laster, Lane Harper, Rainey Brummett, and Taylor Laster.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Laster; and her parents, James and Bernice Wertzberger. 

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that any memorial contributions be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
