Lee Taylor, age 91, passed away at Sardis Nursing Home in the early morning hours of May 25, 2018. She was the widow of Leonard Taylor.
Funeral Services for Ms. Taylor will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park.
Lee was born August 16, 1926 to the late Joseph Tigner and Rebecca Bullard Tigner in Iuka, MS. Leigh worked for William Carter Company and Parker Hannaford before retiring. She was an avid reader of crime stories. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening and listening to music. Leigh was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Batesville.
The family she leaves behind to cherish her loving memory include 2 daughters, Bonnie Taylor Gutherie (Steve) of Sardis, and Betty Taylor Anderson (Bill) of Oxford; 6 grandchildren, Kenneth Taylor, Wade Taylor, Shannon Taylor, Kimberly Miller, Karen Kennedy, and Haley Anderson; and 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lee was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Taylor; one son, Kenneth Taylor; one sister, Elizabeth Hutching; and one brother, Willard Tigner.
