Larry Joe Whitworth, age 74, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, Ms.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 28, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Curtis Union Cemetery in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Friday evening, September 27, 2019, at Wells Funeral Home.
Joe was born April 17, 1945 in Randolph, MS to the late Luster C. Whitworth and Mittie McCullough Whitworth. He was a retired farmer and millwright. Joe was a member of First Faith Baptist Church in Batesville, MS. He was a collector of many things, that included, guns and coins. Joe enjoyed attending flea markets and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a hard worker and provided for his family by working with his tool and farming. Joe received great pleasure while working along side his brother. He was always ready to travel and see new places.
Joe’s life will be remembered most by his wife of forty-seven years, Patrecia Ann Whitworth of Batesville, MS; two daughters, Kimberly Milam Puckett of Winchester, KY, Patty Jo Whitworth of Madison, MS; son, Jody Lee Whitworth of Batesville, MS; brother, Billy Whitworth of Batesville, MS; four grandchildren, Milam Douglas, Grace Whitworth, Annalise Whitworth, Conner Watson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Tedford and Marie Turner; brother, Carlyle Whitworth.
